April 13, 2012 – JUDGE DENIES RESTRAINING ORDER FOR MEDICAL MARIJUANA CO-OPS AGAINST BELLINGHAM

A judge denied a temporary restraining order that would have prevented the city from shutting down two Bellingham medical marijuana cooperatives raided by police last month.

Whatcom County Superior Court Judge Steven Mura denied the order Thursday, April 12, sought by attorneys for Northern Cross and The Joint collectives. Mura cited a lack of irreparable harm done to the businesses.

He also said that, if approved, it would be “an empty order,” essentially telling the cooperatives that if they are operating legally, then they can operate legally.

Canna Law Group presents its premier ‘Pot Talk’ in Seattle on February 23, 2012, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Seattle Convention Center. Hilary Bricken, Aaron Pelley, Roger Goodman, and Rob Braach are gearing up to engage the crowd with 8-minute discussions and a Q&A session regarding their respective areas in the medical cannabis industry.

Hilary is Washington State’s only medical cannabis business attorney. Aaron is a leading criminal attorney in Seattle, well-known in Seattle’s medical cannabis community.
